Get a Car in Dubai for Driving Safe

Dubai is the home of the world's fastest super cars and with these super cars it's very hard to slow down especially in the open roads and highways which usually have speed limits (the Fast and Furious cars would definitely have thousands of fine driving that fast haha but I guess it's worth it with how much it has gross so far: 1 Billion USD in 17 days!). But in Dubai drivers who slows down and follows the rules or speed limits and manage to get past a year without any fines or violations will have a chance to win a car. Yes a car will be rewarded for being careful driving a car (a little bit of tongue twister there). Dubai Police and it's white point system will reward motorists that doesn't incur any violations throughout the year. This system was introduced in 2012 to limit road accidents and incidents by rewarding those who follows the rules day in and day out throughout the year. Not bad at all, you save money being fined and also have a chance to win a car! Not bad at all!

As per our best friend Wikipedia,  in Dubai 120 is the maximum speed limit which shows on board and have the tolerance of +20 km/h. But whenever it shows 140, no tolerance is available. Speed cameras can be expected in any roads.

The white point system listed a total of only 1,500 safe drivers this past 2014 that didn't have any violations or fines for the whole year. Congratulations and hats off to all of the drivers as this was not a small feat at all as only 1,500 of an estimated 2.2 million population in Dubai or 0.068% was able to accomplish this feat (not all has cars so probably around 1 million or so :D but you get the point).

Initially, only 1 of these 1,500 driver's names was supposed to be drawn to win a car, but Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum added another prize and picked another winner of another car. It was indeed a good day to be one of these elite safe drivers, but most especially, it was better day for the 2 winners of the year long event. So it's not bad to drive slow after all. As my dad in law say, "When you're in a hurry, don't hurry". This is really a good motto to live by as a driver, because when we hurry something bad usually happens :) So sit back, wear your seat belt, and don't drink and drive!
